Power Systems West

Power Systems West serves seven Western states through our five sales, service and parts centers located in Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

All this means nothing without our people. We take great pride in what we do to keep our communities powered. That carries through in our business operations where honest, personable customer service is our order of the day.

1955

EC Power Systems was established in Oregon as a division of EC Electric.

1975

Ed Glass forms Glass Power Systems in Boise, ID.

1980

Bob Barnhart joins Glass Power Systems.

1985

Robb Ball, Steve Janik, and Bill Deshler purchased Glass Power Systems from Ed Glass under EC Power Systems a division of EC Electric.John McGraw becomes president of EC Power Systems

1989

Eric Bender, Rick Ridgway, and Loretta Behrens join the company.ONAN ends Distribution and Kohler becomes primary line in ID & UT.

1992

Adds Distribution of John Deere engines.

1995

Remodel and expansion of Boise facility to accommodate growth of engine distribution and packaging.

2001

John McGraw retires and is replaced by Jim Bock as President of EC Power Systems. EC Power Systems enters Denver market through the acquisition of IPS in Aurora, CO. Adds Distribution of Yanmar, Kubota, Hatz and Honda engines.

2008

KOHLER territory expanded to include Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, and Washington (led by Rod Lee, signed by Herbert Kohler).

2012

KOHLER territory becomes exclusive in Oregon and Washington.

2015

Bob Barnhart as General Manager and Jim Bock as President retire. Andrew Beyer becomes CEO. Andy Kankula becomes President. Company Core Values established.

2016

KOHLER launches new large engine KD Generator lineup.

2017

Power Systems West was rebranded from EC Power Systems. Restructured business to follow key Business Segments: Engines, Parts, Service & Sales. Company Core Values established.

2018

Exits engine distribution business.ndy Kankula exits and Andrew Beyer steps in as interim President & CEO.

2019

Kevin Lee appointed GM of Sales; Eric Bender becomes GM of Parts & Service. Launch of Sales Training Bootcamp. PSW exits KOHLER Marine Distribution business.

2020

Brad Lyons becomes President of PSW. PSW launches Leadership training program. PSW nominated KOHLER Industrial Distributor of the Year for the first time in history.

2021

Implementation of Priority ERP systems along with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Website relaunch. Begin Continuous Improvement journey by launching Sprint Process. Alaska added to PSW Distribution territory.

2022

PSW becomes a Kubota Service Dealer across all locations. Nominated again as KOHLER Industrial Distributor of the Year. Commissions first KD product into a regional data center. Significant investment in KOHLER technician training.

2023

Celebrates third consecutive year of safety excellence — Zero Recordables. Departs telecom service segment. Invested heavily in Data Center Readiness training to support large growing Data Center market.

2024

Adds Atlas Copco Product Line for mobile power solutions. Becomes Volvo Direct and Isuzu Dealer at all locations. Adds Rental Power as a key business segment. KOHLER rebrands Rehlko. Acquired by the Lee Family. Exceeds KOHLER Strategic Plan for the fifth consecutive year. Achieves BHAG of 6% Net Income - a first in company history. All employees recommit to a culture of putting Safety First. 1st Annual Power Systems West Company Party aboard the Portland Spirit. Formation of an Enterprise Safety Committee serving both PSW and BCEW.

2025

Celebrate 70 years in business and begins Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) journey. Completes 50th Consecutive Continues Improvement Sprint. Revise Core Values: Champion Safety & Well-Being Act with Ethical Integrity Pursue Excellence in Craft Lead Humbly and Confidently Power in Teamwork; Strength in Diversity Nominated as 2024 Rehiko Aftermarket Parts and Service Distributor of the Year. Wins 2024 Rehlko Industrial Distributor of the Year for the first time. Rehiko "People in Power" award winners:

Power Systems West employees pool resources regularly to support the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Operation Homefront

Each holiday season, Power Systems West staff has the privilege of shopping for and donating gifts to families of active duty members serving in the United States Armed Forces through the national charity, Operation Homefront.

Volunteer Program

Every Power Systems West employee is provided with 40 paid hours annually to spend time working for a worthy organization that is meaningful to them.
