In spring of 2022, Power Systems West became the title sponsor for Leon Tridle III, a rookie on the U.S. Legends Cars International (USLCI) racing circuit. Although it was his rookie season, Leon performed at a very high level moving up the standings and winning the last race of the season on October 22. He was also invited to participate in the INEX Young Lions Nationals in Las Vegas in November. Due to the amount of points he accumulated for the year in the INEX division, he was awarded a plaque for winning the 2022 State Champion Young Lions Asphalt Driver for Idaho. He was also named Rookie of the Year in the Legends Division at Meridian Speedway just outside of Boise, Idaho.
Leon began this 2023 season on April 8th as an established Legends semi-pro racecar driver. After two practice runs, he took first place in his first heat and in the main event. He also set a new track record for fastest lap in the Legends division which was set in 2018. He continued his winning streak by taking the checkered flag again for the heat and main on April 22nd. Not a bad way to start the 2023 Legends season.
The future is a wide-open stretch of road for Leon’s racing career. He has been getting interest from racing team scouts and is having a blast carrying on with his family’s racing history. Leon’s mom, Rachelle is excited about Leon’s success and his prospects, but he’s still just a sophomore engineering student at Mountain View High School, and finishing school is the priority. All of us at Power Systems West have enjoyed watching Leon’s success and wish him the best in his endeavors moving forward. It’s clear to us that Leon Tridle III is already a winner on the track and in life.
